Balham's shop boom continues with launch of B Sports

B Sports has it's grand opening in Balham on Friday 25 March 2011.  The new sports store on Bedford Hill opens for business at 11 am with a host of local sporting enthusiasts, topped by the Mayor of Wandsworth to cut the red tape.

There'll be a weekend only 20% off opening offer and if you can pop in at any time tomorrow you'll get a glass of something fizzy and canapes courtesy of the wonderful patisserie Des Lys.  I'm liking it already!

The woman in charge is Sarah Ahmed who also runs Gemini Hairdressing across the road.  She's buzzing with enthusiasm about her new project having thought long and hard about what would work for Balhamites.  When she set up Gemini Hairdressing she was only about one of five hairdressers in the area.  Now there are no less than 24 establishments nearby that can do what she does. "Everyone's doing what I'm doing now - it's never gonna get me rich".  

Sarah explains that coming from the hairdressing business, customer service is so important to her and her team.  "That's what will make us different from JJB Sports, we will have a very high of level customer service".  She's not scrimped either.  She's bought the best stringing machine on the market and is stocking many top brands in a whole range of sporting disciplines.

If you think about it, with Tooting, Wandsworth and Clapham Commons on Balham's doorstep, Tooting Lido and Tooting Athletics Track down the road and the rise in outdoor fitness classes, she could be barking up the right tree and I wish her well.  She certainly seems to be extremely business focussed and very switched on, chomping at the bit to launch this new sporting facility to Balhams amateur, professional and enthusiastic sporting customers.
