When I am looking for some holiday reads or just some literary inspiration this is always my first point of call. I always come away with something unexpected. Forget the Waterstones top 20 - this place is packed to the rafters with everything from contemporary fiction, poetry, the literary greats to non-fiction history, science, philosophy or business books. They have got every genre covered. Second-hand is great for the environment but they also sell the latest new books too. A kindle and the internet are no replacement for browsing through a fascinating bookshop like this one. It is a priviledge to have this on my doorstep in Balham and I just want more people to hear about it and experience it!

As a bookworm this place nearly gave me a heart attack. There are so many amazing books piled high and the shop isn't in some rigid order so it's like plunging in to the depths of literary heaven to see what you can find. There are sections, so you won't be completely lost but it just has a real dedicated book fanatic feel to it. It never gets boring and there are some great coffee table publications as well as some more hard core stuff and then everything in between..

ReportThis place is amazing. I always had felt intimidated to go in before, but when I did, it was a mine field. It felt like the old Foyles Bookshop that used to be in Charing Cross Road. The guys can order in new books for you too. A great facility that should be called Balham Books!

This second hand book shop is ideally located opposite the tube station. Ive popped in there a couple of times when Ive been on my way to visiting friends. The amount of books they have stocked is quite impressive, so much so in fact that youll find piles of them on the floor in the corners! If youre a book worm then youll love this place.
