Ive been here twice with friends. The first time was New Years Eve 2008. Although it was a little pricy to get in, my friends and I had a great night. From what I can remember at least! The second time Ive been here I was ill and it was a Sunday. There was a vintage clothes fair for the ladies at the back of the pub and the good Sunday lunch made me feel much better.

I have been here a few times and had a totally different experience each time - all good - it just offers a lot of variety. They offer comedy which has always been of a really good standard, swing dancing classes which were really fun and since they take place in the relaxing un-pressurised atmosphere of a pub rather than dance studio they were much more fun than any of my previous attempts at choreographed dance (usually cringe-worthy!), and I could take a date and have a drink! I have also seen a gig here - again the standard was really good and supported a lot of up-and-coming bands. The pub itself is huge but somehow retains its cosiness and laid-back vibe. It is quite cabaret themed with thick red curtains and wood. I think it is a real gem especially for a relatively small area like Balham, which is really lucky to have it.
