Tory Manifesto gives Battersea School Campaign a boost

The campaign for a new non secular secondary school in Wandsworth, probably in the old Bollingbroke Hospital site in Battersea, has gained momentum this week. The Conservatives launched their manifesto at Battersea Power Station and this topic is very much on message - be responsible for your own destiny - for polititans and supporters of Conservative policy.

Neighbourhood School Campaign, Wandsworth
Kay Burley for Sky News was reporting from the Northcote Road and the story has been picked up other media outlets including Channel 4, the local Guardian and Balhampeople, who are covering this story for Balham Residents, falling under the Battersea Constituency.
Jon De Maria, on his Neighbourhood School Campaign facebook page writes 'On the back of the Tory manifesto launch today, we managed to get some helpful news coverage ...... I should at this point stress the non-political nature of our campaign of course - what matters is what works.',
Both Conservative and Labour MPs are in support of this Campaign. It will be interesting to see if Wandsworth soften their previous rigid stance. Wandsworth are currently supporting the new build Catholic Secondary School, also in Battersea.
I welcome any continued discussion on this important issue here on Balhampeople.

From facebook today, Jon De Maria is asking parents of the Campaign to respond to a letter in the national Guardian Newspaper criticising the idea that parents should be allowed a choice in how children are educated.
Jon is asking for quick help to reply to Jon either via Facebook or direct to school@thensc.net. See links in article above.
