Well, seeing as I couldn't get Mark Clarke, Conservative Candidate for Tooting, onto Balhampeople directly, I thought I'd visit his blog and found this rather wonderful, Julie Andrews-esq page of Mark Clark's favourite things.

As far as Balham is concerned, I discovered he lives in DuCane Court.  He sometimes drinks at the Bedford, the BBC or  the Nightingale.  One of his favourite local shops is on Ritherdon Road and he's campaigning to keep the ERVII and VR red post boxes.

This week has seen Mark campaigning against waste at St Georges Hopsital, claiming  that staff are being sent on junket away days into the West End to 'amble around the British Museum' on so called 'Service Safaris', costing St Georges £100,000 per year.

Are you a potential Conservative voter in the upcoming General Election.  Are you going to be giving Mark Clarke your vote?  Has he got what it takes to take over from Sadiq Khan's long reign?

I agree with davorgdavorg that Sadiq Khan hasn't had a long reign. Though Labour definitely has in Tooting. Tom Cox the previous  Labour MP  represented Tooting since the constituency was formed at the beginning of the 1970s.

Not sure I'd call Sadiq Khan's reign "long". He's only been the MP since the last General Election. It's only been five years (it might seem longer...)

Tooting has been Labour since the 1970s. It would be amazing if another party won.
