Balhampeople rubbing shoulders with the stars!

Had a blast yesterday afternoon attending Arthur Smith's Balham Bash. It's a comedy series for Radio 4, featuring Arthur Smith (of course), and all recorded in his home in Balham. What's great about it, is that various artists perform in different rooms in his flat. Hilarious! Arthur, the self proclaimed, and well deserved, Mayor of Balham compares the whole show, leading the audience from room to room. Talk about cosy!

I felt well and truly treated to a medley of brilliant comedic stars and musicians. Yesterday his house guests were Doc Brown, English Comedian of the Year, 2009, Henry Packer, often to be seen hosting at the Old Kings Head in Crouch End, and Richard Herring, former Balham resident and member of double act Lee and Herring. Music was provided by 2 members of Gomez.
Best of all, I brought along with me, one of my - never met before - twitter followers and Balham resident, @Ogrizovic; both as a social experiment and a bizarre sense of loyality to a group of people I only know by avatars! It was a resounding success and a magic way to spend a Wednesday afternoon.
Are you listening to Arthur Smith's Balham Bash on Radio 4? It goes out on Thursday evenings, around 6:30pm. You can always listen again on iplayer. I'd be keen to know if you think it works well. Comments welcome below.
