Royal Wedding Shenanigans in Balham
By aloquifique | Tuesday, April 12, 2011, 19:51
Well, I have to say that to date, I've not even heard a titter about possible Balham Street Parties to celebrate the Royal Wedding on Friday 29 April. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Are we all a bunch of anti royalists in SW12, or are we just expecting that that rather large one on Clapham Common will be more than we can stomach?

Kate and William's Wedding celebrations
At least The Balham Bowls Club are keeping up appearances! They pronounce on their facebook page "To celebrate the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton and because they've given us another long weekend ... YEY!!" .... they are putting on the Royal Wedding Indoor Street and Garden Party. Tickets go on sale now and include an all you can eat buffet and BBQ along with the TV, of course! The next day - Saturday 30th - the BBC will crown the King & Queen of Balham. If you think you've got what it takes, first you must enter!!
Are you posh, flashy, charming, handsome and beautiful - have you got what it takes to be royality?
There's only 16 places, 8 places for kings and 8 for queens.
You must have your entry forms in by Monday 25th April and the lucky 18 will be contacted by phone on Tuesday and Wednesday 26th/27th.
You will be asked to perform a special talent and you must dress to impress!!
You will be judged and the winners will be crowned King & Queen of Balham.
The competition starts from 7pm, in the back room at the BBC. Entry forms can be found either in the loo, or ask behind the bar!
Tee hee yer Majesty!
