Customers at Sainsbury's Balham are set to be offered a helping hand at the till by a local cause. Volunteers from Wandsworth Carers' Centre will be providing a bag-packing service for customers 20th December, to raise money for the Carers' Centre.
The Carers' Centre, situated on Balham High Road and Wandsworth High Street, have been supported by Sainsbury's Balham since May 2013 where they were voted to be the stores Charity of the Year for 2013/2014.
Eglionna Treanor from Wandsworth Carers' Centre who will be taking part in the bag-pack which runs from 1.00pm 7.00pm said: "We're really looking forward to helping pack Balham customer's shopping and would like to take the opportunity to thank Sainsbury's for their support and helping to raise awareness of Wandsworth Carers' Centre"
Customers will be able to make a donation to the Carers' Centre on the day, with collection buckets being situated on the back of every checkout.
Store Manager John Stanton added: "It's always helpful to have support during the busy Christmas Holidays, so we're delighted to invite Wandsworth Carers' Centre to help us out and we hope the day helps to raise awareness of our partnership with them".
