Chestnut Grove Academy to bag pack at Sainsbury's Balham
• Chestnut Grove will be providing a helping hand at the checkouts to Sainsbury's Balham customers by bag-packing on 7th December
• Customers can choose to make a donation on the day
• All money raised will be going to Tabitha Housing UK to be used for building houses in Cambodia. The Chestnut Grove students will be travelling to Cambodia to help build the houses they raise the money for.
Customers at Sainsbury's Balham are set to be offered a helping hand at the till by a local cause. Volunteers from Chestnut Grove Academy will be providing a bag-packing service for customers on 7th December, to raise money for Tabitha Housing UK a charity which supports house building projects in Cambodia. The students of Chestnut Grove Academy will be travelling to Cambodia to build the houses that they have raised the money for.
Emma Salsbury from Chestnut Grove Academy who will be taking part in the bag-pack which runs from 9am to 5pm said: "We're really looking forward to helping pack Balham customer's shopping and would like to take the opportunity to thank Sainsbury's for their support and helping to raise awareness of our house building project."
Customers will be able to make a donation to the students on the day, with collection buckets being situated on the back of every checkout.
Store Manager John Stanton added: "It's always helpful to have support during the busy summer holidays, so we're delighted to invite Chestnut Grove Academy to help us out and we hope the day helps to raise awareness of our partnership with them".
