Arial;color:black">Crowds of people – both old and young - came together
beneath a perfect summer sky last year to enjoy an eclectic afternoon of high
quality live music at the first ever Balham Street Festival. It was a great
afternoon of pure family entertainment.
Presented once
again by Tony Moore & Fayon Cottrell, the festival returns
with another massive line-up of 12 local music acts over 4 hours, each
performing 3 songs on a quick on-off stage turnaround…and what a special line
up this year!!
Amongst this
year line-up we see the return of Lou Jordan as Elvis – who last
year shuck Balham! He will open the show, and the very ultimate ‘Imagine the
Beatles’ band will end the day with all your favorite Beatles hits. Also
on stage is a very special Tribute to Edith Piaf by the incredible Susan
Black, and more still a special appearance by Lenny Zakatek, the
true voice of The Alan Parsons Project. WOW! Others include the
very ultimate in new talent with Maria Infantino, the daughter of the
legendary opera star Luigi Infantino.
Also we have Ed Sheerhan, Robinson, Alisha Bennett, Rachel Huggins, Ellie Rose, Ben Champion and
a very special performance by Diva Madam Tortellini. There will also be
a fashion show on stage by Evolve. There also plenty of stalls and tasty
treats too!
There will be
a number of stalls on the day run by Balham businesses.
Balham Street
Festival is all about bringing people together, a joyful experience for all,
where communities interact with one another regardless of age, color or creed.

Comments
I went to speak to Kim Bellringer, the Balham Town Centre Manager, who is orchastrating the festival, along with the crooners at The Bedford! She assures me it will be a bigger affair than last year with the empahsis on music. "It will be a great day for music in Balham".
Sam from Harrisons on Bedford Hill will be out in force supplying something rather tasty and alchoholic, I'm told. They'll be stalls and no doubt a great atmosphere.
Who's going?!

ReportHere's a profile on one of the Special Guest Artists at the Balham Street Festival on Sunday 8 August.
Tony Moore is no doubt one of UK’s most influential man in the music business today, and a man who has launched the careers of many artists today, and indeed a top songwriter, singer and presenter, whom, without him, there would be no Bedford! A successful artist himself, his career expands over 20 years, and was proud to be behind the massive hit song ‘I Died In Your Arms Tonight’ with band Cutting Crew, and was host to hit TV show ‘Lets Talk Music’
