DYNAMO Boxing Training members turned in some impressive displays at Balham.

In his first ever outing, junior Mo Raja won a hard fought points decision.

Taking this fight at the last minute, James Penfold had gone to Balham to cheer on his younger brother but got offered a contest on the night.

Not wanting to let the show down, he took the fight but lost on a split decision with a gutsy effort.

Junior Bayou had recently won the South East London Senior novice title, so no trainer from any club is going to take the prospect of putting a boxer in with him lightly. On the night he met a vastly more experienced and considerably heavier opponent.

After some debate Dynamo head coach Bill Kerr accepted the contest which turned out to be a candidate for fight of the night as both boys asked for, nor gave any quarter.

Junior's solid jab and blistering right hand helped him to a majority points decision.

Weighing in at his optimum weight of 60kg Jack Penfold fully outclassed his very strong opponent.
