Balham Blazers - a very special celebration

A very special one off celebration is being planned to mark 10 years of Balham Blazers FC. This fantastic club, started in 2001 by Greg Crutwell, son of BAFTA winning Geraldine McEwen, first began as a group of Dads playing with their sons on Tooting Common. Fast foward 10 years and they now field a Youth Under 18 team playaing in the Southern League, two Under 16 teams playing in the Tandridge League, two Under 11 teams, two Under 10 teams and two Under 9 teams playing in the London County Saturday Youth Football Lague - all in Balham.

Balham Blazers celebrating a fantastic 10 Year Anniversary
To celebrate their amazing success, they are holding an evening at The White Eagle Polish Club on Saturday 8 October with guest speaker Adrian Chiles (no less), a short film on the club (Greg Crutwell is also a film director), and entertainment from a live band, 29 Fingers - whom Time Out enthuse "Take the next day off. This is a great band that understands what a good party is all about".
Such auspicious guests and all for a megre £35 ticket price. Apparently there may be a few tickets left. So if you're a parent thinking of getting your son to trial for the club, this would be a brilliant way to see the club from the inside out!
If you're interested in going along, email either Rachel or Mark Chaudori. This night promises to be a memorable night in the club's history.
